On December 5th, YGL accompanied a delegation led by Jose Tavares, Vice President of Berkeley College, USA, on a visit to Shandong University of Management (SDUM). Wei Yong, Party Secretary of SDUM, attended the welcome ceremony and delivered a speech, while President Han Zuosheng and Vice President Dong Yitao accompanied the delegation in relevant activities.

Wei Yong systematically introduced SDUM’s core achievements and distinctive features in discipline development, talent cultivation and internationalized education. He pointed out that Berkeley College’s experience and philosophy in educational cooperation are highly aligned with SDUM’s “open and international” school-running strategy. He expressed the hope that this visit would serve as an opportunity to establish a long-term and stable cooperation mechanism between the two institutions, realize resource sharing and complementary advantages in such fields as joint curriculum development and joint talent training, setting a new model for Sino-US university cooperation.

Vice President Jose Tavares thanked SDUM’s warm reception, and spoke highly of the university’s school-running strength and achievements in internationalization. He noted that this visit had built a bridge for substantive cooperation between the two institutions, which would help both sides build consensus, deepen collaboration and achieve mutually beneficial development in the field of international education.

The two sides held discussions on topics including joint program development, introduction of high-quality courses, sharing of practical training resources, and faculty and student exchanges. The delegation also conducted on-site inspections of SDUM’s relevant teaching and research facilities, spoke highly of SDUM’s school-running conditions, and reached several initial cooperation intentions.

This visit has consolidated the foundation for cooperation between the two universities and effectively broadened SDUM’s horizons in internationalized education. Going forward, both sides will deepen practical cooperation in curriculum development, faculty and student exchanges and other areas, jointly cultivate interdisciplinary talents with global perspectives and cross-cultural literacy, and contribute to the internationalization of higher education.

Responsible persons from relevant departments and schools including the Academic Affairs Office, International Cooperation and Exchange Office, School of Information Engineering, School of Economics and Trade, School of Humanities and School of International Exchange also participated in the activities.

YGL, as a bridge for Sino-foreign cooperation , will continue to leverage its advantages in resource matching, promote deeper collaboration between the two parties in joint curriculum development, talent cultivation and other fields, and empower the internationalization of higher education.
